Prevention practices for nonventilator hospital-acquired pneumonia: A survey of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) Research Network (SRN)

A survey to identify current non-ventilator hospital-acquired pneumonia (NVHAP) policies and prevention practices found that hospitals are limited in their ability to track NVHAP due to a lack of clear guidelines and methodologies and most are not tracking the incidence of NVHAP but can monitor some key process measures (ie, oral care, mobility, tube care, etc) associated with NVHAP prevention.
